If there is a lot of air in the filtration or filter circuit, the water flow will reduce and the filtration will make a rattling sound. It may even stop working completely. The air needs to be bled in order for the filtration to work properly again. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: | Turn off the filtration. |
Step 2: | Turn the bleeder valve on top of the filter cover counterclockwise. (Figure 1) |
Step 3: | The air should start exiting through the valve. |
Step 4: | Once the water starts exit the valve, close the valve by turning it clockwise. (Figures 2 and 3) |
Step 5: | The filtration has now been properly bled and can be turned on again. |
Older type of cartridge filter systems
The bleeding process is identical with new cartridge filter systems. |
