The salt concentration required for the saltwater system to function properly is 0.3%. At this concentration, you will not feel the saltiness on your tongue, nor will the salt sting your eyes. For comparison: the average salinity of sea water is about 3.5%, human tears have a salinity of about 0.8%

Salt can be used to disinfect the pool water by electrolysis in the salinator, during which chlorine is produced. There are different salts with different admixtures, but we recommend buying only pool salt certified for use with solinators to avoid unnecessary problems.
