Intex products are made of soft PVC. It is not recommended to leave the whirlpool outside when freezing. Neither the inflatable tub nor the base is adapted to frost. To prevent damage to the product, store the whirlpool when the ambient temperature drops to 4°C or less. The storage procedure is provided below.

If the temperature is above 4°C, you can also leave the whirlpool inflated, with or without water. If you leave water in and the motor base plugged in, the whirlpool heater will continuously heat the water to at least 10°C.

Preparing for storage:

Step 1: Switch off the whirlpool, connect a garden hose to the outlet adapter and point the other end of the hose at a place suitable for draining the water.
Step 2: Connect the adapter to the drain tube and open the inner valve cap at the tub bottom.
Step 3: When the water stops flowing, disconnect the base from the tub. You can now lift the tub to allow it to dry completely.
Step 4: Connect the inflatable hose to the air line at the base, turn on the bubble function, and point the end of the hose at joints where water gets caught. Use the hose to blow off any excess water.
Step 5: Let all parts of the whirlpool dry completely in the sun (air). The inflatable part of the lid and the tub should still be inflated.
Step 6: After drying, before you start to fold the whirlpool, apply body powder (talc) on all seams and try to fold the PVC without forming sharp bends to avoid cracks.

Store the product in a room that is completely dry and where the temperature is kept above 4°C. Do not leave our whirlpool outside during the winter, especially if the temperature is 4°C or less. Freezing temperatures can damage the whirlpool components. Also, the PVC tub becomes brittle in freezing temperatures.

If the product is not stored according to these instructions, especially if moisture gets into the whirlpool, the following problems may occur:

  • Holes in the wall or joints of the tub or inflatable part of the lid caused by bacterial growth.
  • Fungal stains on the walls and bottom of the inflatable tub and the inflatable part of the lid.
  • Damage caused by severe frost.
  • Some functions of the whirlpool (including airing) may stop working.

Please read the included manual for precise information on how to store your specific Intex product.
