To heat the pool water you can use the an Intex solar mat. To connect a single mat or multiple mats, or fix poor water flow, please review the information points below and see if this is in order.
Connecting solar mat
- Check that the filter pump is suitable for using a solar mat. The maximum pump flow rate (L/h) should be less than 5678L/h.
- Place the solar mat on the ground next to the pool. Do not place it on a table, roof or above the water, for example. The pumps cannot pump high enough for this. For this you would need a stronger pump, which are not suitable for the solar mat.
Connecting multiple mats
As more mats are connected, the water will flow more slowly. When using multiple solar mats, we would recommend the following.
Step 1: | Set the valve of the first solar mat to bypass for the most part. In this way almost no water will pass through the first solar mat but most of the water will go directly to the next solar mat. |
Step 2: | Open the valve (bypass) on the second solar mat a little more. |
Step 3: | If there are more than 4 solar mats, open the valve (bypass) on the 3rd solar mat a little more. |
Step 4: | Open the bypass valve of the last but one mat halfway. |
Step 5: | Open the valve (bypass) of the last mat completely so that het water can pass through the solar mat and the solar mat can heat the water. |
Poor water flow
By using a solarmat, there is more resistance on the water being pumped through it which means it flows slower. If there is poor flow you can follow the steps below to see if this fixes it:
Step 1: | Remove all accessories except the solar mat and the filter pump. |
Step 2: | Vent the filter pump according to the manual. |
Step 3: | Open the solar mat according to instructions and start the filter pump. |
If the filter pump is not vented properly or too many accessories are connected, the flow will be reduced.
