What is the best way to store the filter pump with the saltwater system?

Remove, clean with water and thoroughly dry all components including hoses. Coat the sealing rings, O-rings and washers with petroleum jelly (see user manual for details). Store all accessories in a dry place. It is advisable to store in the original packaging.

What should I do to maintain the filter pump?
